Corporate Photography Services in Riyadh: What to Book, Brief and Expect

Golden Arch Printing Co. Media TeamRiyadh, Saudi Arabia

What each type of corporate shoot is for, how to brief one so nothing gets reshot, and the files you need before a photo goes to print.

Corporate Photography Services in Riyadh by Golden Arch Printing
Professional executive & team photography shot in-studio in Malaz and on location across Riyadh

Most corporate photos in Riyadh are shot for a website and end up on a two-metre exhibition stand. That gap is where photography budgets get wasted. A headshot that looks sharp on LinkedIn turns soft when it is enlarged for a roll-up at LEAP, and a team photo cropped tight for a homepage leaves no room for the headline the brochure designer needs.

We print company profiles, annual reports and exhibition graphics for Riyadh businesses, and our media team photographs for them too. That puts us at both ends of the problem. This guide covers what corporate photography services in Riyadh include, how to brief a shoot so nothing gets reshot, what Saudi privacy law expects from you, and the files to insist on before you sign off.

“Shoot for the biggest place the photo will ever appear.”

Always capture for the largest printed physical canvas, not just a low-res mobile screen.

What corporate photography services in Riyadh cover

Corporate photography services in Riyadh cover six kinds of shoot: executive portraits and headshots, team photos, workplace and culture photos, event coverage, product photography, and architectural or facility photography. Each one is lit, framed and delivered differently, so a good quote names exactly which ones you are booking.

Shoot typeWhat it isWhere it usually ends upPlan for
Executive portraits and headshotsLit individual portraits on a backdrop or in your officeLinkedIn, team page, press kits, annual reports10 to 15 minutes per person; 30 to 45 minutes for a C-suite portrait with outfit or location changes
Team and group photosDepartments, boards, the whole companyAbout page, company profile, recruitment adsPositions planned before people arrive, and one person from your side managing the group
Workplace and culturePeople working, meeting and presenting in your real spaceCareers page, social media, proposalsHalf a day at least, so the frames stop looking staged
Events and conferencesSpeakers, delegates, booths, signings, gala dinnersPress releases, same-day social posts, sponsor reportsA run-of-show listing the moments that cannot be missed
Product and commercialProducts, packaging, food and materials, in studio or styledCatalogues, e-commerce, packaging, advertisingA shot list per product and the final print sizes

Brief the final use, not the look

Most briefs describe a mood: clean, modern, confident. Few say where the photo will be printed, and that is the detail that decides how it must be shot.

A website needs a few thousand pixels. Print needs far more, and large-format print needs the frame left uncropped. Here is what common placements ask of a single photo.

Where the photo ends upWhat the file needsFraming note
LinkedIn profile or email signatureA small square crop; any professional camera file covers itCentre the face with space above the head
Website hero bannerAround 2,400 pixels wide, landscapeLeave one side empty for headline text
Full A4 page in a company profile2,480 x 3,508 pixels at 300 DPIPortrait orientation; keep faces away from the binding
A3 poster or report cover3,508 x 4,961 pixels at 300 DPIShoot loose; the designer needs bleed
85 x 200 cm roll-up bannerAbout 3,350 x 7,870 pixels at 100 DPIVertical frame, head room for the logo, nothing cropped
3-metre exhibition backwallLower DPI is acceptable from a distanceShoot wide; a tight crop cannot be rebuilt

That roll-up figure surprises people. A 24-megapixel camera produces 4,000 x 6,000 pixels in a vertical frame, which prints at roughly 76 DPI on a 2-metre banner. Read from two metres away, that holds up. Crop away a third of the frame first and it does not.

A crop can always be made later. Missing pixels never come back.

So tell your photographer every place the image might go, including the ones you are not sure about yet.

How to brief a corporate shoot in Riyadh

A one-page brief prevents most reshoots. It should answer six questions:

1. Placements

Where will the photos be used?

List every placement, largest first (e.g. exhibition booth, brochure, LinkedIn).

2. Who is on camera

Who is being photographed?

Names in English and Arabic, job titles, and executive calendars.

3. Visual Style

What should they look like?

Backdrop colour (white, brand grey, or real office), formality, reference images.

4. Dress Code

What will people wear?

Solid colours, pressed thobes, and arranged ghutra/shemagh before the first frame.

5. Logistics

Where is the shoot & who grants access?

KAFD towers and compounds often need ID copies & equipment lists days ahead.

6. Sign-off

Who approves the selects?

Name one single stakeholder to approve selects and retouching with a deadline.

Planning around Riyadh: light, heat, Ramadan and people

Outdoor light and summer heat

From June to September, Riyadh afternoons regularly pass 40°C. Outdoor portraits are realistic only in the first hour after sunrise or the last hour before sunset. Midday sun puts hard shadows under eyes and makes people squint, so most summer work moves indoors.

Glass towers and mixed light

Floor-to-ceiling windows look great and photograph badly without help. Daylight from one side and office lighting from above give faces two different colours. Professional photographers balance this with flash, and they need around 45 minutes to set up before the first person sits.

Ramadan and the working week

Working days are shorter in Ramadan and people are fasting. Book headshots early in the day, keep sessions short, and expect evening events to move after iftar. Remember the Friday and Saturday weekend when you plan multi-day shoots.

Choice and comfort

Ask each person, privately, whether they are happy to be photographed and published. Some employees prefer not to appear on the website or social media, and some women may request a female photographer. Plan for both before the day, not on it.

Arabic names and captions

Get the Arabic spelling of every name from the person, not from a translation tool. A misspelled name on a printed annual report cannot be corrected with an update.

Consent and usage rights under Saudi law

Saudi Arabia's Personal Data Protection Law has been in force since 14 September 2023, and it treats photographs and videos of people as personal data. Organisations need prior consent to process personal data unless a legal exception applies, and people can withdraw that consent at any time (see the Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer summary).

In practice, that means four things for a corporate shoot:

  • A written release from each person, stating where the photo will be used and for how long.
  • A register of who opted out, so their image never reaches the website or print runs by accident.
  • A removal process for when someone leaves the company or withdraws consent.
  • A written licence from the studio, covering print, digital and advertising use, the duration, and whether you may edit the images.

This is practical guidance, not legal advice. Your legal team or data protection officer has the final word.

What you should receive after the shoot

Agree the deliverables before the shoot. Most disputes come from assumptions, not from bad photos.

DeliverableWhy it matters
Edited JPEGs in sRGBCorrect colour on websites and social media
Full-resolution, uncropped files in Adobe RGB or TIFFGives the printer the full colour range to convert to CMYK once, with a proof
Standard crops: square, 4:5 portrait, 16:9 landscapeReady for LinkedIn, Instagram and web banners without redesign
Files named by person and title (e.g. Sara-Alotaibi-CFO.jpg)Your marketing team finds the right file in seconds
Cut-outs on transparent PNG, if neededLets designers place people on brand colours
A record of the lighting setup, backdrop and camera heightNext year's new hires will match this year's team page
An agreed retouching levelNatural clean-up and heavy retouching are different jobs at different prices

That lighting record is the item most buyers forget. Without it, the team page turns into a mismatched collage within 18 months.

Five mistakes we see repeatedly

1
Cropping tight in camera.

It looks finished on the back of the camera and leaves nothing for print bleeds or orientation changes.

2
Putting the CEO in the last slot.

Meetings overrun. Photograph senior leadership first, while the setup is fresh and the schedule still holds.

3
Using different photographers for different departments.

Three backdrops and three lighting styles on one team page reads as three unrelated companies.

4
Shooting without signed releases.

The photos exist, but legal will prevent them from going onto the website or published annual reports.

5
Approving retouching on a phone.

Skin tones that look right on a bright phone screen print orange or grey. Approve on a calibrated monitor or a printed physical proof.

How to compare two photography quotes

Two quotes for corporate photography in Riyadh can differ by half and still describe completely different jobs. Before comparing prices, check that both include the same:

  • Number of final retouched images & retouching level
  • Usage licence: print, digital, advertising & duration
  • Crew size: photographer alone, or with assistant & groomer
  • Equipment: backdrops, studio strobes, tethered live screen
  • Location or permit fees, and travel outside Riyadh
  • Turnaround time for preview gallery & final high-res files

If one quote is half the price of the other, check the retouched image count first.

Integrated Production

Why a printing company runs a photo studio

Because we see what happens to photos after the shoot. When the same team lights your portrait and prepares it for press, nobody hands files between suppliers, and nobody blames the other when a skin tone prints wrong.

Golden Arch Printing's media team covers corporate portraits, team photos, product photography, event coverage and architectural photography from our studio in Malaz, Riyadh, and on location across the city.

Questions & Answers

Frequently asked questions

How much do corporate photography services cost in Riyadh?
Price depends on four things: the number of people or setups, hours on site, the number of retouched images, and the usage licence. Headshot days are usually quoted per person or per half day, and events per half day or full day. Fix those four numbers in your request so quotes compare.
How long does a corporate headshot session take?
Allow about 45 minutes for setup, then 10 to 15 minutes per person for a standard headshot. An executive portrait with outfit or location changes takes 30 to 45 minutes. A team of 20 fits comfortably into a half day.
Can you photograph at our office?
Yes. On-location headshots are the most common corporate booking. A meeting room about 4 metres deep is enough for a backdrop and lights. Building access, security passes and parking for equipment should be arranged a few days ahead.
Do employees need to sign a consent form?
Saudi Arabia's Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) treats photographs as personal data and generally requires consent, which people can withdraw. A written release stating where the photo will be used is the safe practice for every person photographed.
What should employees wear for corporate photos in Riyadh?
Solid colours without fine stripes or small checks. Thobes should be pressed, with the ghutra or shemagh styled the same way across the team. Avoid visible logos other than your own, and bring a spare shirt or thobe.
What files do I need to print photos in a company profile?
Full-resolution, uncropped files. A full A4 page at 300 DPI needs 2,480 x 3,508 pixels. Supply the original or Adobe RGB file and let the printer convert to CMYK, then check a printed proof.
What is the difference between corporate and commercial photography?
Corporate photography shows a company's people, workplace and events. Commercial photography sells a product or service in advertising. Many shoots combine both, such as a CEO portrait in the morning and product shots in the afternoon.
Can new employees' headshots match our existing ones?
Yes, if the lighting setup, backdrop and camera height were recorded at the original shoot. Ask for that record as a deliverable.
